Glue Smart Lock works on most Swedish locks with a thumb turn. It also works on locks that have both a thumb turn and a key cylinder on the inside of your door (ASSA 2000/02) in which case we will send you an extra accessory to make it work.

  • If someone does not have a smartphone, how do they enter my home?

    Since your Glue Smart Lock has no effect on the existing lock, it is still operable with a physical key. 

  • What if my smart phone's battery dies?

    You can download the app on someone else’s smart device and sign in with your user account.

  • How can I access my Glue Smart Lock from a different device?

    Download the app on the device and sign in to your user account.

  • I have a new phone. Will this affect my Glue Smart Lock?

    Your Glue Smart Lock is bound to your user account, not your smart device. A change of phones will have no effect on your account; you simply have to download the app once again and log in.

     

  • Is my phone compatible with Glue?

    The Glue Smart Lock uses Bluetooth 4.0 and is compatible with smart devices powered by iOS 7, Android 4.3 and later.

  • How do I cancel my Glue order?

  • How do I reset my password?

    In the App

    1. On the Glue app’s start page, push “Sign in” in the upper-right corner of the page
    2. Press the text “Forgotten your password?” that is found in the centre of the sign in page
    3. Enter your email address/phone number and you will be sent a link
    4. Press the link
    5. Enter your new password

    On the Website

    1. Navigate to https://manage.gluehome.com/forgotpassword 
    2. Fill out your email address or phone number and press "Reset my password!"
    3. A message containing a hyperlink will be sent to you. Press the link, which will take you to a new window where you can enter your new password

  • Why are there so many steps to the signup process?

    To ensure our users' security, Glue has adapted a thorough signup process.

  • I do not receive an email when I create a user account. Why?
    +

    The confirmation email can be sorted by a spam filter and end up in your junk mail. Please check your junk mail.

  • How do I register a new phone number?

Glue Smart Lock

  • Where can I find my Glue Smart Lock’s serial number?

    Your Glue Smart Lock’s serial number is found on the backside of the unit, in the app and inside the envelope that contains the installation guide.

    To access your serial number through the app, choose a lock and press “Lock Details”. Your serial number will be found in the upper right corner of the page. 

  • How do I know if Glue Smart Lock is compatible with my existing lock?

    Glue Smart Lock is compatible with Deadbolt, Euro Cylinder, and Scandinavian type locks, which are the most common lock types in the United States, the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Scandinavia.

     

  • The screws in my current thumb turn are too short/long to be used with the Glue door plate. What do I do?
    +

    If the existing screws are too short or too long, please cut the provided screws to the right length and replace the existing screws. 

  • I want to sell my used Glue Smart Lock. What do I need to do?
    +

    Go to “Settings”, “(Manage) Locks and Properties” and choose the lock you want to sell. Simply press “Remove Lock” to remove the lock from your account. The one you are selling the lock to can now add the lock by following the installation instructions.

  • How often do I need to change the batteries in a Glue Smart Lock?

    The battery life of the Glue Smart Lock approximately one year.

    Tip: You can always see your Glue Smart Lock's battery power status in the app under “Lock Details”. 

  • Where do I turn if I want someone to mount my Glue Smart Lock for me?

    Please contact the support at support@gluehome.com and we will recommend a professional installer in your area. 

  • My Glue Smart Lock sounds as if it is locking/unlocking, but nothing happens. What is wrong?
    +

    Your door or deadbolt probably just needs some help. Push the door and try again, just as you would do if you were to lock/unlock with a traditional key.

Glue App

  • Why does it take a long time for the Glue Smart Lock to unlock?
    +

    If it takes a long time for your Glue Smart Lock takes to respond, there are a few easy ways of getting it faster.

    1. Try pressing the unlock button earlier. If you press unlock well before you arrive at the door, your Glue Smart Lock will, most likely, unlock before you arrive at the door
    2. When you have added or removed users from your lock, it will take some extra time for the lock to operate. Once this is done, it will run swiftly again.

    Tip! Once you have shared or removed digital keys, perform a lock operation so that the performance is always at its best. 

  • Nothing happens when I press the lock or unlock button. What is wrong?

    Check that Bluetooth is enabled. Also, your phone must be compatible with Glue. 

  • I am running my app, but the Glue Smart Lock is not responding. What is wrong?
    +

    If your Glue Smart Lock does not respond, there are a few easy ways of getting it back on track.

    1. Refresh your Bluetooth connection by turning it off and then back on again
    2. Restart the app by double pressing the home button on your iPhone or pressing the function button on your Android device and swipe the app off screen
    3. Reboot your phone (shutdown and restart)
    4. Delete the Glue app, go to AppStore or Google Play and download the Glue app again 
    5. Make sure that your phone is connected to the internet. If Glue offline mode should fail, access needs to be restored from the cloud service. Do not worry, the app will take care of it. All you need to do is to run the app when you are connected to the internet
    6. Check how many permanent users that are registered to your Glue Smart Lock. To achieve top performance and stability, there should be less than 10 users registered to your Glue Smart Lock. If the Glue Smart Lock malfunctions when you attempt to do this, unplug the battery pack and plug it back in. We are developing a solution that will support many more users.
    7. Refresh data (only for Android). To refresh the data of a specific lock, select the desired lock, press “Lock Details” and "Refresh data". To refresh the data of every lock that is bound to your user account, press “Settings” (cogwheel icon) and press “Refresh data”.
  • When I try to register the Glue Smart Lock, the app says that it is already registered.

    You can only register a Glue Smart Lock once. Check if the Glue Smart Lock is registered to someone else. If it is, the owner or a key manager will be able to invite you and give you access to use the Glue Smart Lock.

  • What do I do if I accidentally sent a key invite to the wrong email/phone number?

    Press “Keyholders”, choose the person/number/email that you accidentally sent an invite to and press "Revoke access."  

  • Where in the app can I see the Glue Smart Lock’s current battery status?
    +

    Choose the desired lock and press “Lock Details” on the bottom of the page.

  • How do I share permanent digital keys?
    +

    Open the app and press “Keyholders”. Once you reside on the keyholders page, press the “add” icon that is located in the upper right corner on iOS devices and in the lower right corner on Android devices. Fill out the information, choose the access level “standard user” or “Key Manager”, choose the desired door and send the invite.

  • How do I share digital keys?

    To share digital keys, open the app and press “Keyholders”. Once you reside on the keyholders page, press the “add” icon that is located in the upper right corner on iOS devices and in the lower right corner on Android devices, fill out the information and send the invite.

  • How do I change my password?

    1. Press “Settings” (cogwheel icon)
    2. Press “Change Password”

     

  • How do I control my Glue Smart Lock with the Glue app?

    1. Open the app and sign in
    2. On the “Home” page, choose the desired door
    3. Select "Tap to Unlock" to unlock the door or "Tap to Lock" to lock the door
  • My guest does not receive a key invite, what is wrong?
    +

    The confirmation email can be sorted by a spam filter and sent to your guest's junk mail inbox; please look there.

    If the guest already has a Glue account, the invitation is sent straight to the app. All they have to do is to sign in, press the chat bubble and accept the invite. 

  • How do I enable/disable Glue notifications?

    There are two ways to enable/disable Glue notifications.

    First, you can do this by changing the settings in the Glue App.
    Open the app and press “Settings” (cogwheel icon). On the settings page, press “Manage Notifications” and enable/disable the notifications for the desired lock(s).

    The other way to enable/disable Glue notifications is by altering the entire app’s settings from the smart device’s notifications centre. Depending on the device, the notification centre might be labelled under a different name but will, most likely, be found under the device’s “Settings” page.

     

  • How do I change the name of my door?

    Open the app and press “Settings” (cogwheel icon). Press “(Manage) Locks and Properties”, choose the desired door and edit the name. 

  • How do I change my property photo?

    Press “Settings” (cogwheel icon), “(Manage) Locks and Properties”, the desired property and then press the camera icon that is located in the upper right corner of the page. Choose new photo.

  • How do I change the name of my property?

    Open the app and press “Settings” (cogwheel icon). Press “(Manage) Locks and Properties”, choose the desired property and edit the name.

  • How do I share temporary digital keys?
    +

    Open the app and press “Keyholders”. Press the “add” icon that is located in the upper-right corner on iOS devices and in the lower-right corner on Android devices. Fill in the information and choose the access level “guest”, schedule the time of access, choose the desired door and send the invite

  • How do I revoke digital keys/users?

    To revoke a user, go to the keyholders page, choose the desired user and press “Revoke access”.

  • How do I manage access with my Glue Smart Lock?
    +

    The owner of a Glue Smart Lock can share three different access privileges (digital keys) to users.

    Guest:
    - Can only use the Glue Smart Lock during certain times, which is decided by the owner or a key manager
    - Can not access activity logs
    - Can not share digital keys

    - Can not lock/unlock remotely

    Standard User:
    - Can always use the Glue Smart Lock
    - Can access activity logs with information about the user's own locking/unlocking activities
    - Can not share digital keys

    - Can not lock/unlock remotely

    Key Manager:

    - Can always use the Glue Smart Lock
    - Can access complete activity logs with information about all users' locking/unlocking activities to the specific lock(s) they have key manager access to
    - Can share digital keys and change other users' access levels

    - Can lock/unlock remotely.

    To share digital keys:

    Open the app and press “Keyholders”.
    Press the “add” icon that is located in the upper-right corner on iOS devices and in the lower-right corner on Android devices.
    Fill out the information, choose the desired door and send the invite.

  • The Glue Smart Lock is fitted to my door, but my device can't connect to it. Why?

    Make sure that the batteries are plugged in.

    Swipe the battery cover to the side and check that the batteries are properly installed.

  • How do I set up my Glue Smart Lock with my smart device?

    1. Download the Glue app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
    2. Open the app, enter your email address, press “Create Account” and follow the instructions (this step requires an internet connection).
    3. Once you have created an account, press “Settings”, “(Manage) Locks and Properties” and “Add new Glue Lock”.
    4. Follow the instructions and assign your Glue Smart Lock to an existing or a new property.
    5. Your Glue Smart Lock is now set up.
  • I can not see the lock in my app. How do I do to lock/unlock it?

    If it is your Glue Smart Lock, please follow the installation instructions on how to add the Glue Smart Lock. If it is not your Glue Smart Lock, ask the owner or a key manager to invite you.
