Glue Smart Lock works on most Swedish locks with a thumb turn. It also works on locks that have both a thumb turn and a key cylinder on the inside of your door with our product "Scandinavian Standard Lock with thumb turn and key cylinder".

General Questions

  • How many digital keys can I have for my lock?

    At present, you can have up to 10 keys per lock.

  • How safe is my Glue Smart Lock?
    +

    We take security very seriously and therefore we use the same security solution as internet banking, TLS with 256-bit encryption.

  • Are there public APIs for Glue?
    +

    Although this is something we would like to look at in the future, Glue currently has no open APIs.

  • Is there support for Apple HomeKit, Z-wave and other home automation solutions?

    Glue is currently not compatible with systems such as these. However, we hope to investigate various integration options in the future.

  • Is my smartphone compatible with Glue?

    Glue is compatible with devices that use iOS 7 and Android 4.3 or later.

  • I have a new phone. How does that affect my Glue Smart Lock?
    +

    Your Glue Smart Lock is connected to your user account, rather than your smartphone. You can change your phone without affecting your Glue Smart Lock. All you need to do is download the app on your new phone and log in using your account details. Remember to log out of your account on your old phone for security.

  • Can I lock and unlock with my key even though I installed Glue?

    The glue lock has no impact on your existing lock and you can just lock and unlock with your physical key from the outside.

  • What do I do if my smartphone runs out of battery?
    +

    If your smartphone runs out of battery, you can download the Glue app on another device and log into your user account. Or you can use your traditional key (the glue lock does not stop your key from working).

  • How do I change or cancel my order?

    If you wish to change or cancel your Glue order please email support@gluehome.com.

  • I've forgotten my password, how do I reset it?

    You can do this in the app or on our website.

    In the app:

    1. Open the Glue app, click "Log In"
    2. Click on "Forgotten your password?"
    3. Enter your e-mail address or phone number and click on "Reset my password!". A message with a link will now be sent to you
    4. Click on the link
    5. Enter a new password

    On the website:

    1. Go to https://manage.gluehome.com/forgotpassword
    2. Enter your e-mail address or phone number and click on "Reset my password!". A message with a link will now be sent to you
    3. Click on the link and enter your new password

  • How do I change my current password?

    You can change this in your app by clicking the "Settings" button at the bottom right. - Choose "Change Password"

  • I have a new phone number / email address. How do I link it to my Glue account?
    +

    You can change this information in your app by clicking the "Settings" button at the bottom right. Once in the menu, you can click the information you want to change and modify it.

    A verification message will be sent to your email address or phone number when a change is made for verification. After you complete the verification, your change will come into effect.

  • I do not want to install my Glue Smart Lock myself. Who should I contact?

  • How do I know if Glue can be installed on my current lock?

    Glue is compatible with regular Scandinavian locks. This includes locks that only have a thumb turn on the inside of the door, and those that have a thumb turn and key. If you are not sure if your lock is compatible please contact us at support@gluehome.com or +46 10 888 6868

     

  • Where can I find my Glue Smart Lock’s serial number?

    Your Glue Smart Lock’s serial number is found on the backside of the unit, in the app and inside the envelope that contains the installation guide.

    To access your serial number through the app, choose a lock and press “Lock Details”. Your serial number will be found in the upper right corner of the page. 

  • How is a Glue Smart Lock powered?

    Glue is powered by four AA batteries that last for about one year in normal use. When it's time to change batteries you will get a notification from the app.

  • How do I connect my Glue Smart Lock to my smartphone?

    1. Download the Glue app from Google Play (Android) or AppStore (iOS)
    2. Open the app, enter your email address, click on "Create account" and follow the instructions
    3. Once you have created an account, click on "Install Lock"
    4. Follow the instructions in the app to connect to your Glue Smart Lock

  • What permissions do the people I invite receive?

    The owner of a Glue Smart Lock can assign three different access levels to shared keys. 

    Guest:

    - Can only use your Glue Smart Lock for a predetermined time
    - Cannot view Recent Activity
    - Cannot send digital keys
    - Can only operate the lock locally using Bluetooth, not remotely.

    Resident:

    - Can always use your Glue Smart Lock
    - Can only see their own history in the recent activity log
    - Cannot send digital keys
    - Can only operate the lock locally using Bluetooth, not remotely.

    Owner:

    - Can always use your Glue Smart Lock
    - Has access to the complete Recent Activity Log and any history
    - Can send digital keys
    - Can operate the lock locally using Bluetooth and remotely.

  • How do I share digital keys?

    1. Click the + icon under the lock's name in the app
    2. Enter the phone number or email of the person you wish to share a digital key with

    3. Select permission level, Owner, Resident or Guest

    4. Click "Send Invite"

  • How do I recall digital keys?
    +

    1. Click the User_icon.jpg user's icon under the lock's name in the app
    2. Select the user whose access you wish to revoke
    3. Click "Revoke Access"

  • My guest did not get my digital key invitation. What's wrong?
    +

    The confirmation email can sometimes be sorted as spam. Ask your guest to check their spam mailbox.

    If your guest already has the Glue app and a registered account, the invitation will be sent directly to the app. Ask your guest to sign in and accept your invitation.

  • How do I enable / disable notifications in the Glue app?

    There are two ways to enable / disable notifications.

    You can:

    1. Manage notifications via "Settings" in the Glue app.

    Click "Manage Notifications" and enable / disable notifications.

    2. You can also enable / disable your notifications from your device's general settings.

  • When I try to register my Glue Smart Lock, the app says the lock is already in use. What do I do?

    A registered Glue Smart Lock can not be registered again unless the previous Glue lock owner unregisters the lock first.

    Check if someone else has registered the lock. If so, then the owner of the Glue lock can invite you and give you access to the Glue lock.

    Otherwise, unmount the lock and contact support (+46 10 888 6868 or support@gluehome.com) and we will assist you.

  • Where in the app can I see battery status on my Glue Smart Lock?

    Battery status appears to the right of the lock's name in the app.

  • What is InHome Events?
    +

    It shows a log of activities of Glue certified service partners, deliveries of groceries, parcels and services.
